Improving your quality of life

Anxiety can be an overwhelming and isolating experience; and it effects everyone differently. Whether you're experiencing panic attacks, rumination, finding it difficult to do your usual tasks, Carlisle Counselling is here for you.

In therapy we will look together at both anxiety as you experience it, and work to identify and address the underlying issues or causes. I hope that by doing this you'll experience a long term improvement.

RELATIONSHIP DIFFICULTIES

Improving relationships with others, and yourself

Relationships that are full of tension, poor communication, or you might find it difficult to commit to others, can make relationships difficult to maintain; whether it's your partner, family, or a friend.

Carlisle Counselling offers individual sessions. In therapy we will look at how you relate to yourself and the people around you. I use a personalised and individual approach in sessions, and a non-judgemental approach. We'll explore your current situation, and when you feel ready, we can look at core issues that are impacting your relationships, and working with those to help you grow and develop.

EATING DISORDERS

Improve your relationship with food

If you find yourself obsession about food, your weight or shape, and it is causing you distress, I can try and help you overcome this.

Here at Carlisle Counselling, I have received specialist training from the National Centre of Eating Disorders; and have experience working both long term and short term with those with eating disorders. Whether you struggle with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, or have a diagnosis of OSFED, I am here to help you with your recovery.

I follow the National Centre of Eating Disorders treatment programme, and incorporate my own training to provide an individual treatment plan. In some cases it might be necessary to work with other health professionals; which I am able to do for you

The question I get asked most, is will I have to be weighed in sessions? I will not weigh you, our sessions are to focus on your mental health and how you are experiencing your relationship with food and your body.

Ready to take a step towards recovery?

SELF HARM

Finding a better way to cope

Self harm comes in lots of forms, whether you're causing physical harm to yourself, abusing drugs, alcohol, or making reckless decisions; Carlisle Counselling is here for you.

I firmly believe that behaviours such as these are often a physical expression of an emotional state that we are struggling to cope with. While I can give you some coping techniques for reducing these behaviours, the aim at Carlisle Counselling is to help you find healthier, long-term solutions.

I use a non-judgemental and personalised approach in sessions. We will look at triggers, and the underlying causes and emotions for these. We will explore the core issues, and help you work through these so you hopefully find you don't feel the need to self harm at all anymore.

DEPRESSION AND LOW SELF-ESTEEM

Helping you take back control of life

If you're finding that most days you're feeling low, unable to concentrate, and not doing the things you usually enjoy, it might be time to get in touch with a professional therapist who can help you.

Here at Carlisle Counselling I understand that there doesn't always have to be a big event that made you feel like this. Perhaps it was much more slowly, and you're not even sure how you reached this point. In sessions you will have the opportunity to explore how you are feeling in depth. We will explore underlying, core issues, and slowly look at your own concept of self and use sessions as an opportunity to learn, grown and make changes in your life.

Contact me today and let me help you find the best in yourself.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

Helping you move forward

Sometimes in life, things just don't feel 'right'.

There doesn't have to be a diagnosis, or any specific event to start counselling. Sometimes people want to explore themselves, to help understand themselves more. Perhaps someone recommended you see a therapist, although you're not sure why. People don't always know what they want from sessions, and that's alright at Carlisle Counselling.

I offer both short-term and longer term individual therapy sessions, where you'll have the freedom to explore whatever you choose. If you find it helpful, I have a range of creative tools, and ideas that can help deepen personal understanding.

Schedule an initial appointment and see what I can do for you.

Benefit from my professional experience and wide range of psychological services.
